Helping homeless and at-risk veterans. We offer unique programs to fill the gaps and don't duplicate what others do.
Education
MHVI believes that education is key.
Part of our organization is getting out into the community and finding homeless or
at-risk veterans. From there we work to inform them of our programs.
Health
Basic health care that many of us take for granted can be hard for veterans to access. MHVI helps secure benefits through the VA for all veterans in need of medical care.
Community
Community is the family that goes beyond family. MHVI programs work with community businesses, housing programs, churches, and beyond to help provide for the needs of our veterans.
Our
Programs
MHVI has created six programs based on the needs of our Veterans. Each one unique in creating support for a Veteran or family of a Veteran.
How do we do it?
MHVI's six programs were designed to meet the needs of Veterans. Each program offers unique services to help make an impact.
WOVIN
Sight is critical for so many everyday functions, from reading the blackboard to playing basketball. We provide free eye exams and subsidized prescription eyewear so no child needs to squint when they look for their future.
Some children have more toys than they know what to do with, while others have few good toys to speak of. We strive to matchmake between toyts and youngsters in need with our yearlong toy exchange program.
Numerous studies have shown that being with animals helps people overcome learning difficulties, emotional challenges and more. Not every family can have a household pet, so our animal center enables children to enjoy the benefit of having a pet without the cost.
Our medical center is open every day from noon to midnight to receive patients without appointments or referrals. We offer everything from flu shots to X-rays, and have a 24-hour call center for telephone inquiries.
